More renovations!!!
This is our decking, its been down for about 8 years and never been cleaned!
Mr. PP has been very busy this afternoon, he has jet washed the decking, whilst listening to the Boro match on his ipod!!! I am very pleased with the results and so is Mr. pp as the boro won against Stoke 2 -1!!!!:)

That Friday Feeling!!!
from this to this:
We got a bargain last weekend, these white panelled doors were reduced in B & Q to £10 each! We have lived with our old 1970’s doors for 13 years and finally now we have replaced all our internal doors!!! I am really pleased with the results and it has inspired us to carry on with our house renovation further!!

Autumn glow
Whilst I have been to work today, oh is still on annual leave and I am glad to say that he has been making himself useful around the penny pincher household. He has fitted a light behind my newly decoratored radiator cover in our lounge, it adds a soft orangey glow to the room and makes it feel cosy and Autumny!
Bank Holiday Blues!!
Yes, I have Bank Holiday Blues today, as I have to go back to work tommorow after being off for 13 days! I have had a big long rest and feel so relaxed, however that work thought is looming!!
I know once I get there in the morning, it won’ be half as bad as you expect and by lunch time I will be fine

I suppose the easist thing is to put it out of my mind!!! I have tried to distract myself by reading, I have a new book ‘No Time for Goodbye’ by Linwood Barclay, £3.97 from Asda, instead of £7.99 from Borders!
Its one of this Summers recommened reads from the Richard & Judy Book club and I haven’t been able to put it down since I bought it on Saturday! Its about a young teenage girl Cynthia who wakes up one morning to find that her whole family have disappeared!!
Anyway, off to distract myself, I am just about to shabby chic our bedroom up using yesterdays bargains!
Our bedroom (aka: the winter snug) I love it, the bedspread has made it much warmer and welcoming!

I have also used the Carnaby Street handbag, it is holding brushes on my dressing table!!

Little Treasures!
I have been out all morning bargain hunting round our two local car boot sales!!! Here are some of my favourite purchases!!
Stainless steel retro coffee machine £9, these normally sell for about £170!!

a brand new shabby chic vintage quilted bed spread, £3.50

a retro bag for £1. I have one of these already, very similar, so I know its from a very trendy shop on Carnaby street in London

Friday Feeling!!

It’s still quite cold and rainy here in North Yorks, but the weather hasn’t prevented the pennnypincher household having that Friday Feeling!!
Ds2 has been to play a game of tennis at the local sports centre and I have been out shopping with oh!
We bought a massive punnet of strawberries for a £1 from Asda and have enjoyed eating them with cream in front of our open fire. I know your thinking what a funny combination, but it was heavenly!!!!
The reason we have put our fire on this afternoon was to take the chill out of air and to burn/recycle some of our household waste. We have decided that we will burn as much as possible on our fire, in an effort to combat rising fuel costs and also to recycle whatever we can!

About me:
welcome to my penny pinching pantry :)
This is my favourite selection of frugal, old fashioned recipes. please feel free to comment and add to them. I am a huge Nigella Lawson fan and there are loads of her recipes featured here, mostly they are from her latest series, Nigella Express.
I live and work in North Yorkshire. I am married and have two boys, (11 & 23) and a fab black labrador, who is the total baby of the family!
