Support Children in Need

 pudsy.jpg

Good afternoon,

Ds2 still has a tummy bug, so I have’nt been to work. :(    I normally work 5 hours on a Friday, so  I have’nt lost out on too much pay. As I work for the agency, I don’t get paid, if  I am off. This works both ways however, it makes the job really flexible and I manage the work/home balance well, as  a result of this flexibility, so it definetly does have it’s  advantages!

This morning, I played catch up the household chores, I have all the washing done and dried, hoovered up and down stairs, dishwasher unloaded and put away and everywhere is tided up!! yay!   These are the jobs that I would be doing over the weekend, so at least I can chill out this weekend, instead of my normal’ chicken with no head mode’

Mr. T is delivering groceries this afternoon and after a lot of procrastination, I have finally completed my menu plan to start this evening.

It is ’Children in Need’ this evening in the UK. It is a massive charity event that runs annually. Millions of people in the uk get involved with raising money for children who are in need.

The tv coverage begins at 7pm tonight and is on normally all evening till the early hours of tommorow morning. They usually raise millions of pounds and it all goes to help needy children.   This subject is close to my heart, as before I completed my Learning Disability Nurse and Social work trainning. I worked caring for children with special needs for five years. The job was extremely hard work, but also highly rewarding. Children in Need is a good cause and we all need to support it, so that this great  charity can go on helping those in need :)

I am looking forward to watching and supporting tonight’s events, I just hope I don’t fall asleep, I have been known to nod off at 9.30pm and wake up at the end about 2 am!!! eekkk!!!!   I  will be adding snacks to our menu plan for sustinence for us (well hubby) till the wee small hours!!!

  1. AWEsome blog - love your style and easy family friendly recipes. What seasonings do you use for your Nandos style chicken with piri piri sauce and do you roast or panfry?
